Unmentionables

Before I scurried  off to the study lounge last nigh, I threw together some cabbage, chicken and tofu in the pan and made oatmeal porridge .

Even though I was full, dinner just doesn't seem complete without satisfying my sweet tooth.

What started off with a small dip into peanut butter, dipped in granola...

Went on to be finishing leftover wheat thins, some pitted dates, dried mangos, and walnuts.... at least I tried to healthy?

Last night I had to pull an semi-all nighter (I can never truly stay awake for the entire time!). When I went back to my room to take a shower in the middle of ...the morning?...to "refresh", the sight of my kitchen made my stomach growl. So at 2 am in the morning, I fried an egg, served with toast... then a half of a ham sandwich, and some other unmentionables.

But I figured staying awake and studying was way more important than one of the 15 commandments so I let just last night slide (that's how it ALL starts huh?)

So it was no wonder that I had absolutely no appetite this morning.

A tradition I have is grabbing food on campus on test days. The meals can add up but it's worth all the hassle and bustle of trying to plan a meal before a test. Because I wasn't hankering for anything decadent this morning, I went to Popovich and grabbed a Raspberry Rapid Smoothie while I looked over OChem notes from last night. From what I remembered, it contained sorbet, orange juice, raspberries, and strawberries.

So far I feel pretty good about this test. Hopefully nothing too unexpected will show up!

Farewell to OChem

Today was the last day of OChem lab and desk checkout sparked some nostalgia.

Oh farewell OChem lab, how...great?... you have been!

After lab I went home starving for some dinner. I took a look in the fridge and knew exactly what to make-- Dummied Down Stir Fry :)

First I chopped up some kale, onion, cabbage and chicken...

Next I scrambled the egg and chicken in a preheated pan...

Threw in the vegetables (it was so much I wasn't sure it would even fit!)...

And viola-- Dummied Down Stir Fry.

Complimented with some oatmeal for carbs. This dinner was so filling I couldn't even think about desserts.

Okay maybe just a little bit of dessert...

As for the night snack, walnuts and raisins with a banana.

It's (Not) Easy Being Green

After I complaining about my unhealthy eating habits during the last few days to CC, I decided to really take nutrition seriously. When I got home, I made a super filling salad with chicken, tofu, avocado, and Asian Sesame dressing.

For dessert, I much on a sliced apple and some natural peanut butter.

This meal was so satisfying that it tied me over until 10 pm. Not wanted to ruin my good strike, I whipped up a green smoothie consisting of oatmeal, spinach, strawberries and milk topped with granola. (I also munched on a few wheat thins and walnuts as I was making it!)

All in all, I conclude today with a very healthful meal and snack and strive to become even better tomorrow...and I swear, this is the LAST time I will say this! :)

Going Green

After I got back from class, I couldn't help myself but to have an early dinner. I broiled a white fish fillet with oregano, salt and pepper, and topped it on a slice of whole wheat bread with mustard. I paired this with some cajun rice and spring mix salad with granola and Asian dressing.

I also couldn't help myself but to indulge in some Oreos and granola with strawberry cream cheese and natural peanut butter.

I almost died and gone to heaven when I covered my spoon in peanut butter and dipped it in granola...

Seriously, why are Oreos so good?? I knew I couldn't keep eating them on a daily basis so I threw the rest in the freezer. Hopefully this will slow down the rate at which I was down them.

For dinner, I wanted something green...literally. So I made another smoothie but this time, I threw in some spinach with oatmeal, orange, and orange juice.

The result? It just tasted like an orange smoothie. Very good and wholesome but next time, I'm going to add water instead so I can really taste the spinach!

Easy Morning

Between yesterday's 6 hour breakfast-lunch gap and almost non-existent dinner, my meal schedule was completely thrown off; I was starving by 10 pm!

I wanted something filling but light so I broiled a white fish fillet in teriyaki sauce and added it to a bed of cajun rice.

So when I got up this morning, I wasn't hungry at all. But I knew I had to eat at least a little bit so I quickly threw some walnuts and raisins in some yogurt and headed (actually ran) straight to class.

Pretty relaxing day today: morning class, lunch/chill with AS, start research paper for cinema, wait to hear from CC, and watch Wedding Crashers.

Supposedly this movie should be really funny, so I'm going in with high expectations :)
